Submission Guidelines
The Mayor's Award for Literary Achievement
Note: the 2010 Award has yet to be annouced!
Eligibility:
In order to be eligible, nominees must currently reside in the Halifax Regional Municipality and have made a significant contribution to the literary life of HRM. Nominees may include, but not be limited to, authors, publishers, librarians, archivists, journalists, educators, booksellers and teachers. Recipients are eligible to win the award one time only.
Nominations can be made by
(1) The general public
(2) Schools, libraries, and similar organizations
(3) Cultural organizations
(4) Businesses

The Selection Committee will be made up of:
- A representative of the HRM Literary Community.
- A representative of the Halifax Regional Municipality
- A representative of the Halifax Regional Library
- A representative of the Writers' Federation of Nova Scotia
Committee members cannot be nominated for this award, nor related to any nominees, and can stand for no more than three consecutive terms.
