The Atlantic Book Awards Society
The Atlantic Book Awards Society (ABAS) is a registered non-profit organization with the mandate "to promote and acknowledge excellence in Atlantic Canadian writing and book publishing through an annual awards ceremony and related events."
The 2010 Atlantic Book Awards celebration will take place Wednesday, April 14 at the Alderney Landing Theatre, Dartmouth, NS. During the week of the awards, from April 11 - 18, book lovers can enjoy Atlantic Book Fesitval events in all four Atlantic provinces. Watch for details! The shortlist of books nominated for the 2010 Atlantic Book Awards will be announced late-February, early-March, 2010.
Currently based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the board of the Atlantic Book Awards Society is committed to being a truly regional organization with representation from all four Atlantic provinces. The goal, over time, is to rotate the awards ceremony through New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador, as well as Nova Scotia.

The Atlantic Book Awards Society believes literacy is of vital importance to all, and is pleased to partner with Feed the Mind in their efforts to foster a love of reading in children who might not otherwise have their own books.
